About CHERRYBELL USA -- Japanese Craftsmanship, Direct from Japan

About CHERRYBELL USA

We exist for one reason: to make Japan's centuries-old craftsmanship part of everyday life -- anywhere in the world.

Our Story

CHERRYBELL JAPAN Co., Ltd. was founded with a simple belief: that Japan's traditional crafts -- lanterns, ceramics, lacquerware, woodwork -- should not live only in museums. They should live in homes. They should be picked up, used, lit, drunk from, and loved every day.

For decades, Japan's artisan workshops have struggled. Younger generations choose office jobs over apprenticeships. Workshops close. Techniques disappear. We wanted to do something about it.

CHERRYBELL USA is our answer. We work directly with master artisans across Japan -- Nakatsu Wagasa umbrella makers in Oita, Arita porcelain kilns in Saga, Wakasa-Nuri lacquerers in Fukui -- and ship their work to homes across the United States and the world.

What Makes Our Products Different

  • Made by hand, in Japan. Every product is crafted by Japanese artisans using traditional techniques. No mass production. No factory shortcuts.
  • Centuries of refinement. Many of the crafts we carry have been refined for 400+ years. The Edo period (1603-1868) was their golden age, and the techniques have been passed down ever since.
  • Modern function meets traditional beauty. A Wagasa lantern that purifies the air. A wooden tower with a photocatalyst inside. We honor tradition by giving it a place in modern life.
  • Direct from Japan. No middlemen. We work directly with workshops and ship directly to you.

The Artisans We Work With

  • Nakatsu Wagasa (Oita Prefecture) -- Edo-period umbrella craft, now reimagined as lanterns and air purifiers
  • Arita Ware Kilns (Saga Prefecture) -- Japan's first porcelain, made since 1616, including Yagenji Kiln
  • Wakasa-Nuri (Fukui Prefecture) -- 400-year-old lacquer technique used on chopsticks and tableware
  • Cypress Woodcraft (Multiple regions) -- Hand-carved Japanese cypress (hinoki) plates and bowls

Our Promise

When you buy from CHERRYBELL USA, you are not just buying a product. You are helping a master artisan continue their work. You are keeping a 400-year-old craft alive for the next generation. You are bringing a piece of living Japan into your home.

We pay our artisans fairly. We ship directly from Japan. We stand behind every piece we sell.
