Four Centuries of Japanese Porcelain, in Your Hands
Arita porcelain has been made in Saga Prefecture, Japan since 1616 -- over 400 years of continuous tradition. This teapot and teacup set is crafted by Yagenji Kiln, one of Arita's master porcelain workshops, using the same techniques passed down for generations.
Each red peony is hand-painted by a skilled artisan. Each gold accent is fired directly into the porcelain -- not applied as a coating -- ensuring it lasts for decades of daily use.

About Arita Ware
In 1616, Korean potter Yi Sam-pyeong discovered kaolin clay near Arita, and Japan's porcelain industry was born. Arita ware became so prized that it was exported to European royalty in the 17th century. Today, Arita remains Japan's porcelain heartland, home to hundreds of kilns each carrying on this 400-year tradition.
